Once again, I am late with our report, and I APOLOGIZE!
The month of August, (well, the whole summer) flew by. We had numerous events, rescues, vet emergencies, vacations, and a hurricane! We are currently under threat of Hurricane Irma also!
While Full Moon Farm Wolfdog rescue is based in North Carolina, we operate on a national level. Our monthly Howl In events are held at the Farm, as are tours, (free, as we feel wolfdog education should always be free!), we attend events in Charlotte, NC, Bristol, VA, and the Knoxville, TN area. We also transport to or from all of the lower 48 states, either picking up rescues from shelters, owners in crisis and Animal Control agencies, or taking animals to homes or other facilities.
The states covered in just August were NC, SC, TN, VA, WV, OH, MD, and PA, where we were picking up or delivering animals. :-o
We welcomed about 70 people to the farm on the first of September for our 11th annual Pawty as well, and worked with other rescuers over Hurricane Harvey and the rescue of multiple animals where their owner had a dibilitating stroke.
The middle of the month allowed me my first vacation in 8 years with my three adult children, who treated me to my first trip to the UK and Ireland. Not much time for writing a report, but I am so grateful and proud of my children.
We rescued Big Paws, Sassy and Sprite, said goodbye to Hanta, (14 years old), Mani, (17-1/2 years old), brought back Sol from training, assisted in the placement of Alexis and Wiley and helped build fencing for Roux at his new home. Dr. Beverly came out for shots, neuters, and physicals on 11 seniors. Our new pavilion is almost finished and should be completed before the snow flies. And, (drum roll please), our volunteers posed and put together a stellar 2018 calendar!
During the summer, we hosted 2 interns from Washington DC, and Anna and Harvest joined our team as resident interns. Joining us as volunteers were Sarah, Vanna, Savanna, David, Ila, Emilie, Jordyn, Bob, Joanne, Alison and Jeremy. We are so Blessed to have the support of volunteers, and you, our donors.
As always, we enjoy hearing from our you.
Joyous Howls from Nancy and The Pack
