Hello and Happy Spring!
As the winter winds down and spring is on the way, we are reminded that spring brings "puppy season", which has most rescuers bursting at the seams. Since we do not focus on adoptions, but on sanctuary, we usually end up with the older dogs being dumped so the cute little puppies get bought. :'( Such is the cycle of animal rescue.
The cycle of life and death marches on as well. While we had to say goodbye to a few of our senior residents, the revolving door of animals in need continued to bring new residents into our pack, keeping our number at 60.
Meet our newest residents!
River ll came to us from a shelter here in NC, while Bella Luna, Anthony, Mona Lisa, Sol and Captain came from shelters in VA. Kahula was brought in from an owner in crisis in NC, (government job abroad). Winter's family was no longer in a position to keep her, (high risk pregnancy of the human mom), and Sabina came back after the hurricane in FL forced her human mom to relocate and the only available place would not allow her. Blanca came back to the Farm when her human mom passed away and Nora was brought in from an owner in need to be a pen mate for Achilles. Our last rescue came from FL, via TN when his original rescuer was accepted in to Vet school and could not take Ruger with her.
At this writing, we are making plans to trade two of our adoptable animals for two sanctuary animals from a rescue facility in TX, bringing a running at large then captured animal from Maryland, and assisting an owner in crisis relocate an animal to a new home. Hoping to help a family build a fence to contain their young wolfdog, to keep that animal out of rescue.
We, all of us at Full Moon Farm Wolfdog Rescue and Sanctuary want to thank YOU or supporters for allowing us to continue our mission for abused and refused wolfdogs. We provide lifetime sanctuary for wolfdogs from all over the country, educational opportunities for schools and civic groups, community service hours for college students and private tours for animal control agencies as well as shelter workers. We could not continue without your support in this food drive.
Please come see us this Howl In Season if you are in the area!
Joyous Howls and Happy Tails!
