Hello Farm Supporters!
As we are heading in to summer, we want to tell you about the busy spring we have had.
March brought us 5 new residents from Michigan, and 3 from the Sanford/Raeford, North Carolina area. Wolfster, Freya, Tala, Luna and D'Artangan were seized as wolfdog ownership is illegal in Michigan. They are super sweet love muffins and hopefully will be able to have families of their own soon. Hats off to Iosco County Michigan Animal Shelter, as they went above and beyond to save these special furkids. Adam, Eve and Queenie were seized from a rescue turned hoarder in the eastern part of the state, and placed with us through the ASPCA investigations division. These three animals are in pretty rough shape, and as Dr. Beverly put it, "They are pitiful". We are doing what we can to keep them healthy and happy, while allowing them to get comfortable. Queenie has people skills but appears to be other animal aggressive, while Adam and Eve want nothing to do with humans. All three have lived for years on concrete and have bad hips and bad backs because of it.
May has brought us Miss Summer, a mid content rescue from a military family in crisis. She is a sweet girl and we hope she will become an Ambassadog with River!
We said goodbye to senior residents Star, Missy, Tatanka, Sophia and Kaos in the first 5 months of this year, placed Lobo and Pup Pup into lifetime foster care with volunteers, transferred out Snowflake and Big Boy, watched Big Boy, now known as Klondike make his first commercial appearance in the Toyota Rav 4 commercial featuring James Marsden! While we do not do adoptions for a fee, volunteers are allowed to lifetime foster more social animals, and we do facility to facility transfers between other organizations, such was the case with Big Boy a rescue from VA.
