Hello to All!
The warmer weather has brought the "Great Shed" around here. If it isn't covered in fur, it isn't ours. :-)
Spring has brought price increases to our kibble. We have had to modify what we feed the animals, as one of our preferred brands reduced the bag size by 5 pounds, with no reduction in price. This resulted in a loss of more than $150.00 per month. The second preferred brand raised prices by $1.70 per bag, resulting in a $68.00 per month increase. Our third preferred brand has increased by $1.00 per bag, a $20.00 per month increase.
Also, we welcomed a few new animals into our pack! Meet Cyrus and Ursa, both are 13 years old. Their owner took a fall and was unable to care for them. They have adjusted well and have made friends with Dave, Jay and Emjay, three of our volunteers. They are seniors and require supplements and the highest quality kibble we feed.
Honey, came to us from the upper midwest. She is a mid content animal who has had an abusive past. Riddled with parasites and malnutrition, she is coming around nicely. We hope to pair her with a super friendly, very trusting enclosure mate, to help bring her around, once she is spayed. (She was not fit enough for surgery!)
