Happy Howlidays!  Our 2019 highlights and recap – all because of YOU, our supporters!


Wow, what a year! 

31 incoming new rescues, including 14 puppies.  5 from the Ohio Rescue, 6 from Virginia, 1 from Carteret County, NC and 1 from Michigan.  The Carteret girl is under vet care for some problems related to her neglect and another 5 month old pup is at the trainers to overcome severe abuse.  8 prior rescued adults are living the good life in homes, and we are grateful to those who believe in rescued animals.  We said goodbye to several seniors and miss them greatly.

 We sent 2 of the Ohio adults to another facility in Michigan, see www.howlingtimbers.org.  Two other adults have been with a trainer, see www.faithfuldogk9training.com in southern Ohio. They are doing wonderful and were joined by a 5 month old puppy rescued from an abusive situation.  The adults are looking for their “forever” home.  Please email nancy@fullmoonfarm.org if interested.

We assisted multiple organizations this year in various ways – referrals, tracking and trapping help, home visits, and financial support for two fledgling operations to lighten the rescue load for wolfdogs across the country, one in Ohio and one in Texas.

The big news is the addition of George Stapleton to our “staff”, (he’s a volunteer too!).  George comes to us from Colorado and has worked in the rescue and sanctuary area since 1994.  We are pleased to have him aboard.  Please join me in welcoming George.  Shoot him a “pack” welcome at george@fullmoonfarm.org.  He will be glad to hear from you.

If you remember, In June this year, I wrote a heartfelt letter to our supporters - https://www.mynewsletterbuilder.com/email/newsletter/1413995726 about how I was affected by the Ohio rescue.  I am sorry to say that the owner who had fallen on such hard times developed cancer and passed away.  May she rest in peace and I know her past animals welcomed her over The Rainbow Bridge.

You might also remember our story on WLOS.  Fred and I were unable to make that granddaughter’s birthday party that month, but, with bringing George aboard, we were able to make my eldest granddaughters Sweet 16 Party in early November. She was so surprised!

The WLOS story highlighted our needs and I am humbled to say our plea was heard.  We are entering 2020 with our veterinarian bill paid and adequate reserves to get through the winter.  Thank you all.  We have been truly blessed by your generosity. 

Our needs are few, but our biggest needs are a newer transport vehicle and a well.  I have been pricing 15 passenger vans, and seeing prices from 18,000 to 25,000 for a low mileage used vehicle.  We need rear air in a transport vehicle and enough floor space for 4 – 700 series airline crates.  I have contacted at least 15 dealerships, but no one is inclined to donate or substantially discount a vehicle for us.    If you have used car connections, (email nancy@fullmoonfarm.org).  Our preferred vehicle is a Chevrolet Express 3500 with towing package, with under 50,000 miles.  We will pull the seats out for the floor space we need.  Our current 3500 has 266,000 miles on it and it isn’t safe to take too far these days.  (In fact, we did not march in the Black Mountain Christmas Parade this year because of our vehicle issue!)
