Puppies Girls Day 1

Puppies!

In May, Full Moon Farm was asked to assist in the rescue of 12 puppies from the west coast.  These puppies were born in a shelter and had little chance at socialization.  We had to wait until the youngest litter was 8 weeks old to transport them.

On May 12th, a supporter and myself boarded a plane for Seattle, thankful for the donation of frequest flyer miles to start our journey which took us through 12 states.  We arrived back at the Farm on the 18th, about 11:30 at night, safe, and grateful.

We were blessed by beautiful weather until we returned to Western North Carolina!  Rain, Rain and more Rain!  A normal 90 minute trip took 2-1/2 hours because of the flooding of the roads and poor visibility.  Little did we know that the rain that started on the 15th would continue for 15 days and cause flooding, landslides, washouts and havoc for the mountains of North Carolina.

The animals were safe at the farm, albeit a  little "wet", but all our trees stayed put, fencing remained intact and we were thankful.  However, our driveway suffered a massive hit!  We are working on repairing it.

Here are a few pics of the puppies the day after their arrival.  They are cute "fluffernuffins", and so many hours on the road led to silly names, either based on looks or temperament!  We had Flopsy, Mopsy, Bopsy and Dropsy, 4 sisters born 2/20/18.  (Flopsy has droopy ears!) Letter 2 - aka, "The Littles", born 3/05/18 earned the names of Cindy Lou Floof, Runt, Beavis and Butthead, Ewok, Droopy, Floppy and Flip.

Because of your generosity and continued support, we can keep our animals fed and remain on of the largest and oldest Wolfdog Rescues in the United States.

Joyous Howls from the Mountain!
