Summer 2013 is well underway. Campers are learning and having fun. This week Camp Forest hosted Ray Reitze, a Maine Guide and founder of Earthways School of Wilderness Living. Mentored by a Native American, he taught indigenous skills at Earthways for many years. His teaching sparked and fueled many cultural initiatives. This week he taught brown ash basketmaking.
Camp Forest has several weeks with opening this summer. Those living or visiting in the Waldo County area of Maine can send their children to Day Camp; they can attend an adult workshop; or send a child on a wilderness expedition from anywhere in the world!! Although Camp Forest is one of the less expensive camps, it is still out of the reach of many families. Camperships are needed for children whose families could not otherwise send their child to Camp.
