SUMMER 2018 - FULL SWING!

By Beverly Gilbert (Stone) | Director

Water, Fire Earth - What more could you desire?
Water, Fire Earth - What more could you desire?

Summer 2018 has begun!  Expedition, Maine Woodsman Week completed; Animal Week is next.  Children select an animal and learn about it, and spend a day in the forest BEING that animal!!  Lots of work with tracks, and camo.   Later will be Advanced Wilderness Skills, Forest Basics and Harvest Week.  Shelters will pop up all throughout the woods. After their fresh scents of fir boughs fade and the excitement of children building their first shelters, some last through the winter and shelter some native residents as they leave behind traces of their stay.

Many of the children that come to Camp Forest need our small numbers.  They are often sent from counselors and physicians for the healing work of the forest.   The Camperships for SUMMER 2018 are already expended.  Many children will not be able to attend this summer.  We need to double our efforts to obtain Campership funds as those children that need it most are least able to afford the experience.

The Campers thank you DONORS for assisting them to allow the forest to bring them fun, skills and peace to carry them back to school.
