New year - new start

Dear Wigs for a smile Supporters,

We've continued to provide natural hair wigs to children and youth across Bosnia and Herzegovina suffering from permanent or temporary hair loss. Three wigs were delivered in Uskoplje, Sarajevo, and Bihac to girls aged 8-13. The 4th wig, which was a repair service, goes to a 18-year old girl in Sarajevo (hair loss due to medical treatment).

On a mannequin, the wig looks nice, a bit distant but when our children or young girls touch it, the wigs become magical. When you look at them on their heads, they look so beautiful, so phenomenal at the very least. Also, they look so natural that you'd never guess it was a wig. However, the most important thing these childen and young girls/women are happy and content - physically and psychologically.

Project Wigs for a smile makes wonderful stories, from hair donation stories to beautiful and content wig-owners at the end of the day.

We thank all patients and wig-users who let us share their photos and her stories with their wigs. We thank our Fuad Halilovic (cancer survivor and our Association's wigmaker) and Senada (wigmaker) for their effort and knowledge they put into making this wig. They really create something beautiful, every day.

In November 2022 we held our annual hair donation campaign in Sarajevo City Center. It was by far our most successful event of the year and we collected 264 donations of hair from girls, boys, men, and women all over Bosnia and Herzegovina who came to participate in this event (212 on the spot). More than 25 hairdressers from 15 participating hair salons, and 16 volunteers came together to make this campaign possible.

We thank everyone for supporting this project, both offline and online, and we invite you to share our story and invite your friends to support this project financially this year. Thank you for your time and please, spread the word. This project needs continuous financial support.

At the start of 2023. we wish you nothing but good health, wealth, and endless blessings. We know that this past year has been full of challenges, and we pray that 2023 brings brighter days. Sending all our love and good wishes.
