Wema aims to transform street children and poor orphans by providing basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, education, health, skills training, guidance and counseling and recreational facilities
Children living on the streets need food, education, clothes, shelter and counselling and rehabilitation due to the effects of drug use and abuse and sexual exploitation that they often endure. At Wema, we house 120 former street children at our Home and run two Outreach Projects that cater for the basic needs of 700 children currently living on the streets of Thika and Mombasa in Kenya. We need funds to support our education, feeding, clothing, relocation and counselling programs
We run an education program with a kindergarten, remedial classes and school enrollment. We also cater for the medical needs of all our beneficiaries. We accommodate 120 former street girls and avail emergency rescue and protection to street children
The project will rescue and rehabilitate 1000 children from the streets of Mombasa and Thika and empower the poor community in the immediate neighborhood to increase their incomes and provide for their families’ health and well-being
