WORLD PULSE LIVE ELEVATES VOICES OF GLOBAL LEADERS
We are thrilled to report that since our last report when we shared more about the speakers, we completed our fourth annual World Pulse LIVE speaking tour across the U.S. The tour brought World Pulse world-changing activists from Tibet, the USA, and Nigeria to speak on the power of digital communication to affect change. Their messages reached over 800 leaders at events like the Clinton Global Initiative, City Club of Portland, technology firms such as Twitter and Intel, and thousands more via livestream from the Social Good Summit moderated by Google.
DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT TOOLKIT NOW AVAILABLE
The World Pulse’s brand-new Digital Empowerment Trainers’ Toolkit is out! This dynamic resource is causing a lot of buzz and excitement within our network: with it, anyone can teach others how to use World Pulse to connect across borders and create social change. We have developed this based on what our community have asked for. With modules on storytelling, exchanging resources, and sharing solutions, the toolkit provides the basic knowledge women need to use our technology platform to accelerate the changes they seek.
WOMEN OF WORLD PULSE WINNING MAJOR AWARDS
Over the last few months World Pulse community members have garnered a flurry of honors and awards, and these accolades have extended across our entire network! We congratulate Malaya Pinas of the Phillipines winning the Women Have Wings Award as well as a Global Voices micro grant; Beatrice Achieng winning the OpenIDEO challenge to make urban areas safer for women and girls; Stella Paul winning the Asian Environmental Journalism Award; and Neema Namadamu for winning Africa's most Influential Women in Civil Society Award. Looking to 2015, we are launching the next evolution of our trainiing program! We will be keeping the core of what has worked from the past, while incorporating what we've learned from listening to what our community is demanding right now: spaces for mobilizing and movement building with the support of digital tools. We are excited to be making changes that will allow us to be able to offer our training multiple times a year to a small, intimate cohort of women.
Thank you for your dedicated support of our work and community!
