Spring has arrived in full bloom at Weaver Creek Park, and with it, a season of learning, growing, and community connection. Thanks to your incredible support, the 2025 season is off to a thriving start, empowering youth, families, and gardeners of all skill levels to dig in and grow together.
Hands-On Gardening Every Saturday
Now that we're into the beginning of the growing season, we have begun hosting weekly garden workshops free to the community. Kicking off in February with seed starting and tree pruning, we moved through March with topics like companion planting, soil enrichment, and raised bed preparations. Earlier this month, we hosted our lively Community Party and Open House, complete with a meet-and-greet at the orchard, live music, snacks, and a seed giveaway. And thanks to the entire community, we have started over 400 seedlings which are bound for education and school gardens alike.
Spring Garden Enrichment in Schools
This spring, our School Garden Enrichment Program brought hands-on garden science to hundreds of students across local schools. Our school garden programs have already covered topics like seed starting, composting, pollinator habitats, soil health, and seasonal planting strategies. From DIY garden beds to pollinator workshops, workshops explored the intersection of science, sustainability, and creativity. These lessons not only support healthy lifestyles but also spark lifelong connections to the earth.
Gratitude in Every Garden Bed
We are so proud of the energy and heart our community has poured into the gardens this spring. Volunteers, students, teachers, and families are helping build not just gardens—but a more sustainable and connected future. As we head further into spring and soon summer, we look forward to growing even more with the community.
And none of this would be possible without your support. You are planting hope with us—thank you for helping our gardens grow!
With gratitude,
The Jovial Team
