Need Diapers & Milk powder for 14 babies in India

Dear Friend,

Greetings to you from the Hope House.  It always gives me great joy to give you an update about whats happening on our end.  

Since we gave you our last update, one child has been placed in a home in the US (in the state of Georgia) and she is doing really well.  This child stayed with us for the longest amount of time becuase of her severe limitation due to her special needs.  But this family with such a big heart came forward to adopt her, it just melted our hearts.  The family that came to receive her included the child's adoptive mother, aunt and her adoptive brother.  As soon as they met, the child had initial nervousness (as she was four years old already) but as the time went on, they clicked and now we get updates often to know that the child has adjusted amazingly well.

Two more children are also being matched with families in the US (one in the state of Texas and the other in the state of Alabama) and the paper work is going on and as soon that is done, we are hoping to have the families come by to receive their children.

Every time a child is placed in the arms of their families, for us, it is a bitter-sweet moment because it is this child we care for so long that we are going to miss but we also know that she is going to a better place and that gives us immense joy to let go.  We always make the farewells very special.  We host a special lunch for all the caretakers along with the adoptive family, take lots of photos and allow the caretakers to carry the child for one last time.  Of course, there are lot of tears but to see the child wave a goodbye to all of us is heartwarming to know that she settling down.  

We have a tradition to write letters to the child in a notebook and we did for this child as well and gave it her to adoptive mom and told her to open it when she is 12 years old and mom became very emotional receiving it to know her child was loved unconditionally.

Currently we have 14 children (full capacity) and a few children are with very serious conditions.  As I write this update, there are three children admitted in the Christian Medical College Hospital and that means our staff are stretched too thin but they work anyway because of the love they have for the children.  

I want to say a big thank you for the way you support us unconditionally because without your support, it becomes doubly hard to care for these sickly children.  Please do continue and network us with anyone that you think would be open to supporting us and we would be glad to share any information that they may need from us.
