New Beginnings raised $350 this year. We also posted a new video on our website of Pastor John interviewing some of the children. We are hoping this will encourage people to donate.
This past year, one child died after the roof of his hut fell on top of him during a storm.
One of the older children won a first-place medal for a speech he wrote and then recited at a gathering in Rongo.
Pastor John got an ulcer and we helped him with his medical expenses.
On of the boys burned himself badly and had to go to the hospital. He eventually healed.
With donations so low, John went to work in the fields to help pay for the food for the children. His wife, Beloved, took care of feeding the children one meal a day: rice, beans, and cabbage.
John and his wife are now teaching some of the children who canot afford the fees of the schools.
The world is in chaos and so donations aren't coming in, but we are still hopeful for better times in 2024.
