In 2025, Fondo de Mujeres del Sur partnered with the Base Educativa y Comunitaria de Apoyo (BECA) team, to conduct the study "Service Pathways for Addressing Violence Against Women: Challenges in Care, Accessibility, and Women's Rights in the Asunción Metropolitan Area and Central Department". The study examines how the institutional pathway for gender-based violence complaints functions in this region of Paraguay, with the aim of identifying strengths, obstacles, and opportunities for improvement in care services. It is a qualitative and descriptive study that draws on information from documents and reports, as well as testimonials from service providers and women who use these services.
Knowing our rights and understanding how reporting mechanisms work is essential. Sharing information, together and connected, makes us stronger. Together we are powerful.
This work is part of the initiative "Community Strategies for the Prevention and Eradication of Violence Against Women in Asunción and Central," implemented by Fondo de Mujeres del Sur under the program "Improving the Prevention and Response to Violence Against Women in Paraguay", co-funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the European Union (EU).
The study is available in Spanish. Link below.
