Introduction
Way Forward After the Rescue is a Project that supports Aftercare Services to Girls who are above 18 years and. have completed their Rehabilitation Period at the Mumbai Home of Rescue Foundation
Post rescue and admission girls are rehabilitated at our Home in Mumbai. Girls who are above 18 years and who wish to stay back with the organization or do not have a place to go back are accommodated and supported with services which are known as Aftercare Services.
Many of these girls are in the process of completing their school, college education, some of them are pursuing professional courses, internships prefer to stay back and build their lives in Mumbai
During this reporting period we have had 16 girls who were at various stages in their lives. Few of them are completing their college education. Few had secured jobs or internships and others were in the pursuit of securing jobs, preparing for interviews. Some just stayed back as they did not have any family to go back to.
We have a House Mother working part time to Counsel, Guide Discipline & maintain Health & Hygiene among the residents of the Group Home
We need to note here that most of the girls who are released and continue to stay with the Rescue Foundation as part of the Aftercare Program are mostly involved as Trainers for the residents of the Shelter Home. They continue with their studies and jobs along with giving part of their time to train and mentor the new girls arriving at the Shelter in Kandivali Home.
