Dear Family, Friends and Supporters of Serendipity Healthcare Foundation,
The last time you heard from us we were on rehabiliation of hand pumps which we successfully concluded on the repairs of over 15 faulty hand pumps. As part of our project activities, our data team collects data on number of beneficiaries, water related diseases reported cases and menstrual health.
Following a data-driven needs assessment, our team identified critical gaps in school attendance among adolescent girls in a Sabon Gari Community in Fagge Local Government Council in Kano where we recently rehabilitated water handpumps.
To address this, we conducted a targeted intervention providing comprehensive menstrual health education and distributing sanitary supplies to 30 school-age girls. This successful exercise contributes to our running total of over 5,000 girls empowered across the past two years, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that no girl misses out on her education due to a natural bodily process.
Recognizing that clean water is only the first step in true community health, Serendipity stepped in to bridge the gap between water access and menstrual dignity.
Our team returned to the community school with a holistic three-pronged approach:
