Dear GlobalGiving Partners,
Trust this update finds you well!
Right now, Kwanjora Primary School has one old masonry tank (10m3) and one plastic tank (3m3) which stores water for only one month after the rains. Thus pupils fetch the water from a dam 500m from the school which poses a risk for the pupils. Other times, the pupils carry water from home for drinking, watching hands, and dusting their mud-floored classrooms.
The following are the main project components: (i) Construction of 75m3 masonry rainwater storage tank including water draw-off cum hand-washing facility; (ii) Installation of guttering systems including a simple foul-flush system to divert first runoff, which collects accumulated dust, leaves and bird droppings from the roof, from the tank – improving water quality; (iii) Construction of 8-units girls’ VIP latrine block, and (iv) Capacity building – community and pupils training on improved WASH and O&M to enhance project performance and sustainability!
I continue to thank you for your generosity in the past and kindly ask you to join us on this journey of bringing clean and safe water closer to Kwanjora Primary school.
Thank You! I need you, you need me, this is a social network.
