Work on the Migyera Water Project Continues to Flow

Can you believe it! Dreams can come true!

A significant number of tasks on the Migyera Water Project "to do list" were joyously crossed off in December. Number one on the list was the completion of the pump house construction, replete with wiring, plumbing, and fencing. Of course a pump house without a reservoir is not even a house, and so we are extremely happy to report that the 50,000L reservoir tower, also with plumbing and fencing, was completed as well. Finally, but no less significant, the transformer has been replaced and a guard house has been built thus providing power and protection to the site.

As we continue to move forward in the new year, installation of 1600 meters of raw water pumping line has been earmarked as the next item on the list. It is estimated that this will be finished within a month from the start date. Following the raw water pumping main will be the laying of the distribution networks and the consumer connections. We are confident that 2014 will be the year of water, a year that would not be possible with out the continued support of all of our Change A Life Uganda friends.

We are overjoyed to announce that we reached our $15,000 goal through your donations to Global Giving combined with donations directly to ChangeALife Uganda. December 31st brought an amazing surprise - two friends of ChangeALife Uganda donated the final $8,000. What a way to end 2013!
