Rural communities in Nigeria are the most undeserved and has the poorest level of literacy and lack the necessary facilities for basic hygiene practice such as hand washing. Girls skip schools due to lack of access to sanitary pads and they are left vulnerable to preventable diseases, preventing them from receiving the education they need to thrive.
LITERACY EDUCATION- Hope and Dreams Initiative is committed to creating WASH Libraries in schools in rural communities in Nigeria so they will have the vital infrastructure needed to keep the students safe. Also, we will expand our hygiene education and awareness program. HYGIENE- The ultimate goal of this project is to provide free sanitary pads to school girls in rural schools across Nigeria and also provide information, and resources with regards to menstrual health.

The WASH libraries will see to it that students are safe in their schools. With the provision of sanitary pads, more and more girls will not stay away from school.
