In Cahi, Bukavu, many elderly people live without adequate blankets to protect themselves from cold nights. During our community assessment, we met 31 elderly residents, including women who shared how difficult it is to sleep when temperatures drop. For people already facing the challenges of aging and poverty, a missing blanket can mean sleepless nights, discomfort, and increased vulnerability. This urgent need threatens their health, dignity, and well-being.
This project will provide quality blankets directly to elderly people in Cahi, Bukavu, through a transparent community-based distribution process. Donations will help purchase and deliver warm blankets to those identified as most vulnerable. Each contribution will create an immediate impact by helping elderly women and men experience safer nights, improved comfort, and renewed dignity during the cold season.
