Dear Donors,
Last December we launched our Warm, Dry & full of Chai campaign. This was a massive success, for which we have you to thank!
We scoped the specific needs beforehand and have been rolling out first distributions of locally bought items with the help of our Community Volunteers. On Chios we started with non-food items like gloves, hats, socks, full body thermals, backpacks & portable chargers alongside food including pasta, rice, sugar and vegetables such as onions It also provided us with the opportunity to check in with our team in camp. We kicked a ball around, shared breakfast, enjoyed chocolate & listened to music. It was a wonderful moment to reconnect and enjoy each other company again.
On Lesvos and Samos, our rainjackets made all the difference in the world for our community volunteers. Working in the rain every day is a lot easier to handle when you have a proper jacket. It is a reward well-deserved, and we are very happy we could help our team-members in this way.
Last but not least, thanks to the generous support of our donors the Chai Point on both Lesvos and Samos were open and serving many people during the winter time. A warm cup of coffee and tea makes all the difference when in miserable circumstances.
The weather is still cold and wet, but thanks to your genorisity, we have enough funding to keep running these programs until the weather improves. If you're interested in supporting our efforts on Samos further, or even donating for our help in Syria, please check our other projects. Once again thank you so much for your support.
Let's keep moving!!
