Movement On The Ground will keep the refugee community on Lesvos, Samos and Chios dry and warm through the winter. We will provide winter clothing, rain coats, and most importantly, warm tea and coffee to the the camp residents.
Winter has arrived in Greece, and we need your help keeping the camp community warm, dry and full of chai. Many residents don't possess any clothing suitable for a cold and wet winter in a refugee camp. They are constantly uncomfortable and very vulnerable to illness. The problem is even more serious for those refugees who are Community Volunteers, and contribute to the daily programs run in the camp. They spend most of their time outside in the rain and cold for their community.
Movement on the Ground wills pend the funds raised to help the 200 community volunteers have the right clothes for harsh winter conditions. In a refugee camp, the little things make all the difference, and with even a small donation, you can help someone bear the wintertime with much more comfort. Our Chaipoint provides hot drinks for all the residents, and provides them with that little bit of comfort during a hard time. For many residents hot chai is the highlight of their day.
Community Volunteers y are refugees who have become part of our organization, and day-to-day activities of improving the lives of thousands of other people forced to flee their homes. These are the people that... distribute the food; run the kids' sports programmes; maintain people's homes; cut hair and repair clothes; add colour, nature and joy to dark and grey places; teach language and skill courses. Because of this project, the Community Volunteers can keep making a difference.
