Warm Blankets for Seniors in Our Community

By Annet Chepkemoi | Program Manager

Tekelbei Foundation remains committed to improving the lives of vulnerable older persons in Bomet County, Kenya. Through our Donate a Blanket Campaign, we seek to provide warmth, dignity, and hope to elderly members of our community, many of whom face harsh weather conditions, poverty, and limited social support.

In July 2025, the Foundation successfully organized a charity drive that enabled us to reach vulnerable elders with blankets and other essential support. The campaign demonstrated the power of collective giving and reinforced our commitment to serving those most in need.

Appreciation to Our Supporters

We extend our sincere gratitude to our generous supporters, especially GlobalGiving, whose financial support has strengthened our ability to continue serving vulnerable communities. Every contribution, regardless of size, has made a meaningful difference and has encouraged us to expand our outreach to more elderly people in need.

We are deeply appreciative of the confidence our donors have placed in Tekelbei Foundation, and we remain committed to ensuring that every donation is used responsibly and for maximum community impact.

2026 Charity Drive

Building on the success of our previous campaign, Tekelbei Foundation is preparing to launch another Donate a Blanket Charity Drive later this year. Our goal is to reach at least 100 vulnerable elderly people across Bomet County with blankets and other essential support before the colder season.

To make this initiative successful, we are actively engaging local leaders, community groups, faith-based organizations, and well-wishers to mobilize additional resources and strengthen community participation. These partnerships are helping us identify the most vulnerable households while expanding local support for the campaign.

Looking Ahead

Although we have made encouraging progress, the need within our communities remains significant. Many elderly people continue to live in difficult conditions and require ongoing support. We therefore continue to seek additional funding and partnerships that will enable us to reach more beneficiaries and sustain our community programs.

With the continued generosity of our donors and partners, Tekelbei Foundation is confident that we can provide warmth, dignity, and hope to at least 100 elderly people during this year's campaign.

We thank all our supporters for standing with us and invite individuals, organizations, and partners to join us in making this campaign a success. Together, we can ensure that no elderly person is left behind.

Best Regards,
