The traffic from southern Lebanon is hours and hours long, cars jammed packed like sardines. Someone starts yelling! "Is there a doctor? This woman is giving birth!" men are running back and forth trying to find help as you hear her labor cries in the video. Families are packing into cars and spending the whole day on the highways, getting away from rockets. When they arrive they are missing necessities left behind in the rush to leave, that they now cannot afford or are unable to get.
As families begin to arrive from the south they bring limited supplies with them and many are now paying high rents, families with sick elderly and young infants are struggling to pay for the added things needed. Many NGOs and organizations are providing mattresses, blankets and other practical things but there are fewer offering things like diapers for babies and elderly, medications and milk for young infants. This is where Triumphant Mercy is stepping in.
When fleeing many do not think about basics until they get to safety. Triumphant Mercy will help fill those gaps for families who are both taking care of elderly family members with chronic illnesses and young families with infants and families who have both. It will help to release pressure in small ways and open doors for us to speak hope into their lives.
In the last war between Israel and Hezbollah our response opened doors for relationships that we still have with families and individuals who receive our broadcasts of encouragement and hope. Even dropping in to pray with us and just say hi while they are in Beirut. This type of longer term relationship with them is out goal. To be able to speak truth and life into situations that seem hopeless.
