Project Report | Mar 16, 2017
Meeting needs of one another.

By Jeffrey Wayne Kiger-Rice | Co Founder/Director and Project Leader

Warm blankets for the sick.
Warm blankets for the sick.

We wanted to share with you a couple follow ups from our last report.

As you may recal we shared about a volunteers recent visit with us to some of the care facilities in Tijuana where we provide food. This volunteer was moved by what she saw, "only thirty minutes from home in the US, we witnessed such harsh conditions that were troubling to see". She went back home and worked together in her community to help make a difference toward the "harsh conditions" she saw for herself. Her generous donation, our Tijuana partners connection to the right place to purchase, and some haggling with the merchant, produced 145 blankets for the residents of the care facilities. Just in time before it turned very wet and cold in the region.

Also, in our last report, we mentioned building a church structure to protect a little congregation, in a rurual part of Tijuna, from the outside elements. Up until now, the cngregation met under a tarp where they had meals and fellowship together.  Thanks to generous supporters like you, we have layed a concrete foundation and put up four walls. The roof will be assembled anytime now. Now a community will be able to come together and share with one another not only meals but help meet one anothers needs physically and spiritually.

It is such an honor to serve among those who are serving from what little they have. It is a testament to the endurance of the human race and how much stronger we are if we unite to help one another. With God's love in each of us, together we can make a small difference in another's day to day life. One person and one day at a time!
