Thank you for being a part of the solution - Empowering women to start and grow businesses allow them to earn greater incomes and break cycles of poverty. We continue to partner with local communities that invite us to offer vocational training, share the cost, and conduct assessments in advance which are then used to determine skill and topics of training. Male family members are consulted with in order to ensure their support so that women are set up for success. This model works! We are consistently reaching over 1,000 women a year and demand for scope of services and greater geographic areas is on the rise.

We still have funds remaining of a grant from Safer World Foundation that enables donors to receive a 50% match! Please share this opportunity with friends and family you think might be interested in supporting underserved young women in Pakistan so that they may receive the hand up they need to chose peace and prosperity over violence and despair.

Please help us generate awareness – become a fan of our Facebook page, join us on Twitter, and share with your networks if you haven't already. If you or anyone you know would like to start a MDF Allies in Action group in your community there are various one-time or re-occurring ideas and activities that we would be pleased to share.

Thank you on behalf of the students, entrepreneurs and MDF staff!

Thank you for supporting underserved youth and young women in Pakistan so that they can access education and relevant skills to break the cycles of poverty. We are relieved to share that all Marshall Direct Fund staff and students are accounted for in the aftermath of the recent attack last Sunday in Lahore. We pray for the injured and mourn the 72 victims (most of which were children and women) and their families. We hope that this will unite the country and international community. There has been an aggressive counter terrorism strategy implemented and over 200 suspects are being detained. Anything done after these types of atrocities just masks the symptoms. We will increase our efforts to address the root causes of conflict through the provision of quality and relevant education and economic opportunities so that people can choose peace and prosperity over violence and despair. Every day we see students and entrepreneurs that are standing up in courage demanding a better future Pakistan. They are our hope!

For those who have given recently, thank you so very much. To those of you who have not given in 2016 please consider a donation, even $10 will aid in our efforts and help us qualify for up to $3,000 in prize funds for the most unique donors. Safer World Fund is also generously matching all donations by 50%. Every little bit goes a long way in countries like Pakistan. Please know that you can always give a gift in the name of someone you love. GlobalGiving gladly customizes a thank you that helps the giftee understand the impact of your support in their honor.

We invite visitors to our facilities in Pakistan at any time and would be happy to arrange. We also encourage you to consider Marshall Direct if interested in doing a race or physical challenge. There are so many ways to get involved - participate in a one week poverty challenge (where you live on $2/day or less), volunteer, join a MDF committee, start a chapter. I would be happy to discuss the myriad of possibilities that best fit with your interests and schedule.

Thank you for supporting young underserved women in Pakistan to access relevant skills and to develop enterprises. With economic empowerment and greater financial literacy, livelihoods improve and conditions of poverty abate. Introducing women to opportunities equips them with the knowledge and skllls necessary to understand their options and shape their futures. Thanks to you we are nearing our goal of reaching 1,000 women in 2015 and with an enthusiastic and capable new Director of Vocational Training at the helm, we are developing additional partnerships and growing the strength of the program!

Please help us to reach our goal of raising $5,000 in the next three weeks so we can provide relevant training to an additional 200 women by 2016. For the holidays, consider asking friends and family to give to your favorite cause. Or you can give a gift in the name of someone you love, spreading holiday cheer and the gift of impact. Global Giving gladly customizes a thank you that helps the giftee understand the impact of your support in their honor. Right now Safer World Fund is also generously matching all donations up to $1,500 per person by 50%. Jana Stanfield said “I cannot do all the good that the world needs. But the world needs all the good that I can do.” We cannot change the world by ourselves, but together, anything is possible and every little bit helps. Thank you for considering us in your year-end giving.

There are many other ways to get involved, including directing proceeds for a race or physical challenge, participating in a one week poverty challenge (where you live on $2/day or less), volunteering, or joining our board. You can also help us generate awareness by joining our social media pages and sharing with your networks. If you or anyone you know would like to join our Allies In Action movement there are various ideas and activities that range from book/movie clubs, one-time or re-occuring events, and skype visits with MDF students that we can share with you. We are happy to connect at any time to talk about the myriad of possibilities to becoming engaged.

Thank you for providing a safe place for mothers and their families to learn and develop skills that help make the world a safer and more secure place for all. There is a new member on our team that started after Ramadan, a new Director of Vocational Training and Master Trainer. Sumrah brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the table that will allow us to grow and reach more women. Our goals include initiation of a training of trainers program and providing ongoing mentoring to all entrepreneur participants after completed training. Being based in Karachi, we have easy access to additional partners and areas that we look forward to reaching. We are always open to suggestions of communities and partners to serve should you or anyone you know have ideas. Please note, we only work in areas that we are invited and have the support of male family members of participants.

Unfortunately, we are facing a financial shortfall and could use your help with spreading awareness and promoting the important work being done in Pakistan. We are very lucky to be selected again by Safer World Fund to receive a 50% match for any donations made to the vocational training program. Please share this opportunity with your friends and family that you think might be interested in supporting a project like this and seeing their support matched. There are many other ways to get involved, including directing proceeds for a race or physical challenge, doing birthday donations (asking for support for this project instead of gifts), or participating in a one week poverty challenge (where you live on $2/day or less).

Thank you for all you do to support peace and prosperity in Pakistan and beyond.

We are excited to share that we have trained nearly 750 young women in 2015 and have initiated a more rigorous needs assessment and post project reporting system. We hope to continue to provide meaningful skills and business acumen to women wishing to start or expand small business enterprises so that they can lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

We are very lucky to be among 8 other organizations with access to over $13,000 remaining in matched funds from Safer World Foundation. Help us maximize this opportunity and see your donor dollars go further. Safer World provides a 50% match for the vocational training program until the funding pool is used! Please share this opportunity with your friends and family that you think might be interested in supporting a project like this and seeing their support matched.

MDF encourages your involvement and welcomes any ideas that would help us to reach deserving young women in Pakistan and attract wider support. The project that you are supporting provides a safe place for mothers and their families to learn and develop skills that help make the world a safer and more secure place for all.
