ROAD services
Oklahoma is facing a new day in volunteer recruitment. While volunteers are still showing up to help, disasters are increasing and have outpaced capacity. So what do you do? Innovate! We are on the ROAD to a new way to help disaster survivors who have little to no means of recovery on their own. Through new partnerships and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) we are paving a new ROAD to the free labor desparately needed in serving our most marganilzied familes following a disaster. We still need you to volunteer and always will, but disasters dictate we look beyond what has been before and pave the way for future families in need. Join us as we journey down this new ROAD and help Make Homes Home Again!

Floods provide a multitude of experiences

Flood flooring damage
Disasters from floods can be among the worst and highest cost to repair. While any disaster can be highly destructive, a flood even in a small portion of a home, can result in damages throughout the home from humidty, mold, and contaminates. When a home is not mucked out properly and then dried, it can result in damages throughout the entirety of the home. It can be a common misconception that when the water has receeded that the home can be lived in again. Following a flood, what appears to be a normal home on the outside can be an unlivable home on the inside.
Our disaster recover work sees all types of damages from extensive to minor. Our vocational training program gives participants a taste of repairs that cover a lot of areas to include roofing (rafters, decking, shingles), flooring (piers, joists, subfloor, finished flooring), drywall (studs, insulation, drywall, texture), as well as fixtures and cabinets. Our participants graduate from our program with a great amount of home repair experience.

Demolition Day
The year 2022 has brought many disasters to Oklahoma. Tornadoes in March, May, and November as well as flooding in May have left many families in need of the free response and recovery services we offer. However, the 2019 flooding disaster for one family has taken until now to have recovery begin. After months of planning, gathering resources, and networking with other disaster partners, a new home is underway for this disaster surviving veteran family. This multi month project will involve many seasoned volunteers as well as those learning the trade. We are excited to be a part of this work and training all the while reaching full recovery for families across Oklahoma. We are a fully donor supported organization Making Homes Home Again! Thank you for your life changing gift.
