This project empowers vulnerable young mothers and single parents in Uganda through vocational skills training, entrepreneurship education, and startup support. Many young mothers and single parents face poverty, unemployment, school dropout, and social stigma, making it difficult to provide for their children. Through this initiative, participants will receive practical training in tailoring, soap making, baking, hairdressing, liquid detergent production, crafts, and small business management.
In many communities across Uganda, young mothers and single parents struggle to survive due to limited education, unemployment, early pregnancies, and lack of vocational skills. Many are abandoned, stigmatized, or unable to return to school after childbirth. Without practical skills or financial support, they often remain trapped in poverty and dependency. The lack of income affects not only the parents but also their children, leading to poor nutrition, limited healthcare access

Participants will receive hands-on skills training in: Tailoring and sewing Liquid and solid soap making Baking and pastry production Hairdressing and beauty services Crafts and reusable products Entrepreneurship and financial literacy The project will also provide mentorship, counseling, and startup kits to help graduates begin small businesses or join savings group
The project will empower young mothers and single parents with sustainable vocational skills and business knowledge, helping them become financially independent and confident community members. Families will benefit from improved household income, better nutrition, healthcare access, and education opportunities for children. Over time, the initiative will reduce poverty, unemployment, and social vulnerability while building stronger and more resilient communities.
