Challenge

In many communities across Sierra Leone, hundreds of girls drop out of school due to poverty, early marriage, or limited opportunities. Without education or employable skills, they face unemployment and economic dependence. Youth Help Sierra Leone is addressing this challenge by supporting vulnerable girls who lack access to vocational training and opportunities to build independent and sustainable livelihoods.

Solution

This project by Youth Help Sierra Leone will equip 100 out-of-school girls in Sierra Leone with practical vocational training in tailoring, catering, agriculture, and hairdressing, alongside small business skills. Through mentorship and entrepreneurship support, girls will gain the tools and confidence to start income-generating activities, achieve financial independence, and build more secure futures for themselves and their families.

Long-Term Impact

Through this initiative, Youth Help Sierra Leone will empower 100 out-of-school girls in Sierra Leone with vocational and entrepreneurship skills in tailoring, catering, agriculture, and hairdressing. Over time, these young women will start small businesses, generate sustainable income, support their families, and inspire other girls to pursue skills and independence, strengthening local economies and promoting gender equality.
