Since we launched this crowdfunding campaign we have put together a series of empowering workshops and counselling sessions for our service users and women living in our shelter who want to become change makers in their communities.
With the money raised, the money you kindly donated to us, we kick-started a specially designed counselling program for survivors of violence, led by a team of psychotherapists that speak English, Spanish and Portuguese.
We have also hosted self-development, self-care and self-empowerment workshops, that had an amazing impact on women's confidence and wellbeing.
Clara, one of our participants said: "Spaces like this, where women can feel safe to share their stories and support each other are so rare! I wish you could give more women the opportunity you gave us today!"
The entire LAWA staff is committed to making this crowdfunding campaign a success, as the future of our shelter relies on the generosity of our partners, donors and supporters. Within a couple of weeks, on July 12th, every donation made to the campaign will be 50% matched by GlobalGiving.
