This project, launched in the midst of the pandemic in 2020, received so much support from so many people, and we are extremely grateful.
This online program gave us the opportunity to reach out to people all over Japan and the world, to start discussions about the Hiroshima Panels and the Maruki Gallery.
Thanks to everyone's support, we were able to produce and release not only Director Arai's 'To the Land of Mothers: The Hiroshima Panels 2021' (Approx. 1 hour) but also a virtual tour of the museum, dialogues, and many other videos, which are all available on Maruki Gallery's official YouTube channel.
Finally, we would like to share with you "A Look Inside the Maruki Gallery," a video introducing the Maruki Gallery to newcomers (approx. 15 mins). Please feel free to share this video with your friends and family.
Although this crowd-funded project is nearing its end, the Maruki Gallery will continue to hold online events and produce videos. For more updates about the Maruki Gallery, check out our website, follow us on social media, and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
As you may be aware, the Hiroshima Panels have been facing serious problems from damage caused by the extreme temperature and humidity, UV rays, insects, and dust. We urgently need to construct a new building, restore the paintings, and create replicas to give the originals a rest. Our “Save the Hiroshima Panels - Preservation Fund” is still ongoing on GlobalGiving, and we appreciate any support you can give us.
Once again, thank you very much for your warm support!
