To mitigate the effects of the pandemic and alleviate its impact on our community, RPI is making changes to our programs. Our transformation in programmatic delivery to certain populations will assuage the fear and looming unpredictability of a possible pre-COVID era. Your support and funding during this time will help us navigate the disruptions to lives, impacts on livelihoods, continued threats to economic resources and opportunities, and recovery of the post-pandemic challenges.
The overwhelming challenges and competition for limited economic resources due to COVID-19 plunged those: in low-income status, disproportionately affected by uneven distribution of economic resources, unable to fairly compete for jobs because of immigration status, and who lack skills for navigating systems- into deeper poverty- unable to pay rents/utilities, meet basic needs, and or cater for their families (many are breadwinners).
To address the overwhelming challenges of the pandemic, we shaped and prioritized our focus on renewed branding of service deliveries as required by the new era. We assist with navigating impacts of the pandemic through a method of service delivery that targets specific needs. This will align our programs with the current trend of virtual environments. We provide skills, tools, and resources for obtaining economic resources, train/re-train those impacted in fields required by the automation.
1. Competency in skills required for virtual environments 2. Economic resources will improve income stability 3. Emerging professional competencies in computer applications 4. Increased confidence among a disenfranchised population 5. Opportunities to start a small business 6. Increased employment
