Educate and empower at-risk children through dance

Our second quarter has been full of energy and meaningful progress!

So far this year, DANZÁREA has reached 51 children and adolescents through its holistic arts education program. Together, we have delivered 196 hours of aerial and contemporary dance training, 113 hours of academic support, 46 reading comprehension sessions, and 18 hours of group psychosocial support workshops, helping participants strengthen both their artistic and personal development.

These achievements are guided by DANZÁREA’s comprehensive Results Matrix, our primary monitoring and evaluation framework. The matrix establishes annual targets across key areas, including participant enrollment, educational support, psychosocial services, family engagement, health initiatives, artistic production, and organizational capacity building. By tracking progress against these indicators, we can measure our impact, monitor implementation, and continuously improve the quality of our program.

At the end of the second quarter, DANZÁREA has achieved approximately 67–72% of its annual implementation targets, demonstrating solid progress toward meeting our 2026 objectives.

Results have been particularly strong in participant enrollment, school attendance, educational support, and staff capacity building, with several indicators already meeting or exceeding their annual goals. Other planned activities—including health initiatives, expanded psychosocial programming, and our annual artistic performance—are scheduled for the second half of the year, which explains their lower completion rates at this stage.

Overall, we are pleased with the program's progress and remain on track to accomplish the majority of our annual goals by the end of the project cycle.

One of the highlights of this quarter was the celebration of DANZÁREA’s 18th Anniversary. Families, friends, and community members joined us for a joyful event featuring aerial and contemporary dance performances by our students. The celebration also included a community fundraising initiative with secondhand clothing and food sales. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the funds raised will help support our end-of-year production, giving our students the opportunity to showcase everything they have learned throughout the year.
