Since launching in July 2025, the Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund has served as an urgent, community-centered response to families facing critical humanitarian needs across Ventura County. Through this fund, Ventura County Community Foundation has partnered with trusted nonprofit organizations to deliver immediate, flexible assistance—helping neighbors access food, stabilize housing, secure transportation, and meet basic necessities during moments of crisis.
On February 11, 2026, the Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund and Coalition held a reception where grantee organizations were invited to share stories of impact with over 100 partners, grantees, and other community members. These stories helped illustrate the positive impact that the Neighbors Support Fund, its coalition partners and grantees, and its donors have had on the county since its inception.
With an opening social time that allowed attendees from various organizations to personally connect with one another, speakers from MICOP, Food Share of Ventura County, and Friends of Fieldworkers, as well as other coalition and fund partners, and a Q&A panel, everyone was able to experience the amazing impact of the Neighbors Support Fund. The personal and close stories of how struggling individuals in heartbreaking situations are being helped by the fund were the focus and highlight. These stories can be experienced here.
Since its launch, the Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund has distributed grants to more than 40 nonprofit partners working throughout the region. These organizations provide a wide range of direct services, including food assistance, housing support, health care, youth and family stabilization, workforce support, and emergency relief. Together, they ensure that assistance reaches families quickly and with dignity, through organizations deeply rooted in the communities they serve.
While the fund focuses on meeting immediate needs, it also reflects a broader commitment to community stability and care. Each grant awarded through the Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund helps preserve family well-being, support children, and reinforce the local nonprofit network during a time of profound uncertainty. We are deeply grateful to our donors for making this collective response possible and for standing with Ventura County neighbors when it matters most.
