This project addresses Venezuela's national earthquake emergency by bridging the international funding gap. Locally, we will repair specific damaged homes and municipal schools in Turgua and Mariches. Nationally, our strategic fund will finance grassroots allies supporting orphaned children in shelters, and provide critical sanitation-tents, waste management, toilets, and hygiene kits-to informal refugees displaced in public squares. We ensure urgent relief reaches overlooked areas.
Recent earthquakes caused a severe emergency in Venezuela. Beyond widespread infrastructure damage, a critical crisis has emerged: numerous children are left orphaned and homeless after surviving while their families did not. Furthermore, displaced populations are fleeing to informal shelters and public squares that completely lack sanitation-needing tents, toilets, waste bins, and hygiene kits. Grassroots groups and shelters on the ground lack the funding to address these urgent needs.
We will establish a strategic fund to channel resources to grassroots partners. This fund will support specialized shelters protecting children left orphaned by the disaster and provide immediate sanitation infrastructure-tents, waste bins, temporary toilets, and hygiene kits-to informal refugees in public squares. Locally, we will support the management and execution of targeted structural repairs for compromised municipal schools and homes in Turgua and Mariches
Orphaned children will receive long-term stability and protection by strengthening the shelters that care for them. Public areas will achieve sanitary safety, preventing epidemics through permanent hygiene habits and proper waste structures. Locally, restoring municipal classrooms and homes in Turgua and Mariches guarantees safe learning environments and housing stability, ensuring school continuity and preventing community displacement while strengthening civil society.
