VE Global recently received a new group of interns and volunteers in September and the new team is super excited to start working! We are 11 in total and form an international team (USA, England, Germany, Italy, Brazil and Korea, the Netherlands and Chile). All of them have followed an intensive two week introduction period and are more than ready. These weeks included many workshops on working with children, educational strategies, and we received tips from former volunteers.
Currently, we are working hard on our new program Life Skills which has been established to provide children with basic life skills and empower them to have an independent future. Also, this week we had the Liga Deportes which the children love taking part in. Next to playing basketball and football, we played trivia with the children and we taught them ten important principles about living a healthy life. Next Monday the VE team and children will participate in the Colour Run! We are so excited!
The Program interns are working hard on Festival de Arte, one of our creative educational programs. Also the Development and Communications team and our volunteers kicked off! The DevComs team has set many new exciting goals and are organizing a big fundraiser event in December! Our volunteers have started with their first workshops for the children! As you can tell, we’ve been working hard and are hoping to achieve a lot this year!
