This month we were busy kicking off our monthly Liga de Deportes and preparing for some exciting events coming in April.
For Liga the children participated in a mock mini-Olympics. There were wheelbarrow races, 3 legged races and more! It took a while for the kids to step out of their shells, but after a warm up dance routine to Gangnam Style everyone was in spirit. Thanks to the donations from Espacio Vegano we were able to celebrate our phsyical triumphs with many avocado sandwhiches and strawberries.
Aside from Liga, we were preparing for our annual Festival de Artes, a fundraising event, and our new marketing campaign!
April 20th we are hosting a “Wine and Burgers” night at a local hostel (Hostal Providencia) thanks to their generosity and the generosity of Penguin Wine Company. The event entrance includes 2 burgers, a glass of wine and a ticket to participate in a raffle. We hope this event can help us spread information about our work and be the start of similiar events in the future.
The end of this month we also finished our first marketing campaign for our Life Skills program. Thanks to the Santiago Metro for giving us space at no cost to display our campaign in 10 stations! Also, many thanks to two of our volunteers who modeled for the advertisement!
Stay tuned for next month to hear about how our events unfolded! We are excited!
Love from Santiago!
