Challenge

Many mothers lack proper postnatal support, leaving them unsure about breastfeeding, newborn care, and their own well-being. This affects maternal confidence, increases anxiety, and leads to early breastfeeding interruption. Immigrant mothers face even more barriers, including limited information, isolation, and difficulty accessing community health services.

Solution

"Let's Breastfeed" offers professional breastfeeding guidance, emotional support, and early mother-baby bonding through community Breastfeeding Spaces and Home Visits. Trained staff help mothers manage difficulties, build confidence, and access relevant services. The program provides timely, practical support to ensure that no mother feels alone during the postnatal period.

Long-Term Impact

The project promotes exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, improving infant health, maternal well-being, and early attachment. Long-term, it reduces health complications, strengthens maternal confidence, and supports equal access to care for immigrant families. By empowering mothers, the program builds healthier beginnings and more resilient families.
