The past quarter at BCT Residential High School (BCT-RHS) has been a period of vibrant student engagement, academic support, cultural celebration, and community outreach. Through a range of educational, social, and developmental initiatives, the school continues to create meaningful learning opportunities for children from rural communities.

Cultural Celebrations and Student Well-being

The quarter began with the much-awaited Sankranti and Bhogi celebrations on January 8. Students, teachers, and staff gathered around the traditional bhogi fire, singing and dancing together in a joyful display of cultural heritage and unity. The event strengthened the sense of belonging within the BCT family.

As students prepared for their tenth board exams, the annual Vijaya Homam was conducted on March 8 at Sri Kalyana Vinayaka Swamy Temple. A total of 401 students from 31 villages participated. The program aimed to help students overcome exam fear and anxiety while boosting their confidence through blessings, motivational support, and distribution of essential stationery items. Finally, the ninth graders organized a colorful and warm farewell for their seniors, the tenth graders, wishing them the best for their future.

 Academic Support and Student Achievements

Academic excellence continues to remain a key priority. As regular exams were conducted for all, support is being provided to students in areas where they lag behind. Additional study materials were distributed to Class X students, enabling better preparation for their board examinations. Students also participated in essay writing contests at school and expressed their views.

The school also hosted several dignitary visits during the exam period, where leaders and well-wishers interacted with students and motivated them to perform confidently in their public examinations.

Health, Nutrition, and Hygiene

The Feeding India’s daily nutrition program continues to impact student growth and well-being. Bringing delicious and nutritious meals for the school students, the program helps to enhance their health in these critical years.

Raising awareness on cleanliness, hygiene, and healthy living was the ‘Swachhata Pakhawada’ event. Held under the Swachh Bharat Mission, BCT KVK conducted it from December 16–31 at the school and in surrounding villages.

Students also participated in the Drug-Free Tomorrow: Awareness and Education Expo, where they presented banners, posters, and speeches advocating for a drug-free society. Interaction with an IPS officer further strengthened awareness and civic responsibility. Additionally, a session on safety was also conducted by the Rambilli police station on drug side-effects, good touch/bad touch, cybercrime and road safety.

Experiential Learning and Skill Development

The school continues to promote holistic education through experiential learning. A five-day rural immersion program hosted 35 students from Vidyaranya School, Hyderabad, encouraging cultural exchange and shared learning experiences.

Innovation and technology education were strengthened through the Robovasis coding and robotics initiative, where students from Classes VI to VIII learned Scratch programming and built 16 robot designs using LEGO Spike Prime kits. Additionally, around 100 students are actively participating in Summer Camp 2026, focused on sports, teamwork, and physical fitness. Students also joined the Shabala Program from April 1–5, which promotes sustainable living, rural awareness, and experiential learning.

 Conclusion

Through academic support, student wellness initiatives, technology exposure, and community engagement, BCT Residential High School continues to empower rural children with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed for holistic growth. With exams now taking place, the coming months also promise focus on the academic, vocational and holistic well-being of every child, so that no one gets left behind.
