Living in the wonderful land that is India, the past few months have been educational for our students as they’ve learnt a little more about our beloved country. While the focus on reviving traditional folk-art forms has been constant, the past couple of months focused on an entirely different aspect.
As we approach the 75th anniversary of the Indian constitution on 26th January, 2024, BCT partnered with NGOs across India to promote the message of ‘Har dil mein samvidhan’. Translating to mean ‘Constitution in every heart’, the objective of this campaign is to build awareness about the Indian constitution. In this regard, BCT has been actively conducting various awareness sessions, rallies and activities with the school children. Our students are not only discussing and learning about the Indian constitution via the campaign at school level, they have been actively spreading the message in villages as well. In fact, students also celebrated ‘Indian Constitution Day’ on November 26, by conducting a rally about the importance of constitution.
But it’s not just been education that’s nurturing their minds, as they had a wholesome share of enjoyment as well. BCT celebrated its Foundation Day with a picnic for the school students. The excited young ones got together for a specially organised Magic show and had a lot of fun. Peals of laughter, joyous singing and dance interspersed with fun and games, made the day really special and memorable for them.
The festival of Dasara and Diwali were also celebrated in a grand manner. Animation activities through training and display of folk-dance forms was taken up at school and in the nearby villages during Dusshera. Finally, from October 13-16, the school closed for Dasara holidays. A parents meeting was held on October 17, where teachers shared the progress of students with parents, and clarified their doubts. Report cards were also distributed. Students celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, with lamps and firecrackers.
Various visitors bringing their share of experiences and exchanging ideas with school students is always a cherished activity. Students from BCT TMF SMART centers, youth members from Rubaroo, a Hyderabad based community and college goers from IRMA, Anand came, visited the school and spent time with children. Officials and dignitaries along with student alumni visited the school too and spoke to the young ones. Kind donor Mr. Vijay also gifted a speech-therapy table for the specially abled students of BCTs Sri PV Venkatesan Center for the challenged.
A new addition to our family in the past month has been Sri Muralimohana Rao, who joined as the new School Principal. A previous employee at BCT, he had associated for a decade with us as a school teacher and is now back in this new role.
Academic achievements, art, dance, sports, vocational skills, computer skills and soft skills continue to nurture our students holistically, ensuring that our young minds are well equipped to handle both the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow with an open mind and a curious heart.
As we end this year on a positive note, we thank you for sparing your time for us. It does mean a lot to know that you’ve stopped by to know more about us. Do feel free to write in with your queries, if any.
Wishing you a wonderful new year, that’s filled with new opportunities and wonderful experiences.
Stay safe, stay healthy and stay happy,
