Creating a Culture of Sustainability

Querida Comunidad,

The 2023-2024 academic year is now in full swing, and our campus is buzzing with excitement, laughter, new projects, and the spirit of learning and discovery that defines our community. Here are some recent highlights:

• Class of 2025: We proudly welcome 103 new students to UWC Costa Rica's Class of 2025, who join the 109 returning students from the Class of 2024, making a total of 212 students. This diverse group represents 74 nationalities and a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds, with 82% of them receiving scholarship support.
• Campus Upgrades: Over the summer, we completed several important campus repairs and upgrades. In the upcoming semester, we have exciting new infrastructure projects planned for our Santa Ana campus, including a comprehensive renovation of our fitness gym. These facility improvements align with our Sustainability Framework, ensuring the long-term viability of our college.
• Enhanced Experiential Education: This year, our students will benefit from an expanded version of our Experiential Model of Education. This includes exciting additions such as Community Action Weeks and a revamped Recharge Holidays program, eight Experiential Fridays, expanded Conociendo (Get to Know) Costa Rica experiences, and much more.
• Community Day Camp: we recently enjoyed Community Day Camp (pictured here), an experience for all students and staff members to connect, relax, and boost our community spirit as we officially closed the Orientation period of this new year!
