Your Support - What it means to disadvantaged communities

By Jyoti Singh Chauhan | Business Development Manager

Dear Friends & Supporters,

Working towards our mission to impact 100,000 lives by 2020, Anudip has today reached its milestone of providing a livelihood platform to over 40,000 rural women and youth across several states of India. Without your constant support and belief in our program, this would not have been possible.

Anudip has achieved a success rate of 80% placement of these beneficiaries across formal sectors like Business Process Outsourcing (BPOs), front and back office, hospitality, and retail, among other sectors. In the recent months Anudip has successfully conducted a corporate volunteers’ week where the employees from our corporate partners spend time with our beneficiaries, conduct advocacy lessons in healthcare facilities, education and shared inspirational stories on economic development.

Economic empowerment is one of the major challenges being faced by developing and under-developed countries. India is constantly working towards reducing the disparity created between haves and have-nots. One of the major reason behind this economic instability is poor quality education available to poor, marginalized communities. Young rural people find it is difficult to compete with the urban workforce due to their limited exposure, job skills and workplace knowledge. Women are more vulnerable in such situations and are prone to early marriage, trafficking and domestic violence.

Therefore since 2007 Anudip has taken consistent steps towards providing and improving livelihood opportunities to the marginalized communities. With the help of its supporters Anudip initiated a technology infused training called Digital Inclusion for Young Aspirants (DIYA – previously known as Virtual MAST), Anudip infused various technology-based learning aids into its training program. Use of DIYA technology tools for effective curriculum and engaging pedagogy creates an e-learning, online/offline platform that allows candidates to access multimedia content even during long-drawn power outages and network downtimes. By customizing and digitizing training content in video, audio, presentation and game formats, Anudip enables students, especially naïve rural youth, to increasingly look forward to and enjoy their classroom experience. Use of self-learning techniques increases trainer productivity by factors or four or more, which in turn contributes to the sustainability of the company. DIYA development has been driven by trainer observations, student and employer feedback, and recommendations of impact consultants.

This technology infused training is currently being conducted in 32 training centers and with your support Anudip aims to reach its all 150 training center locations and make a difference in the lives of rural women and youth.

Thank you so much for your support!
