Dear Friends and Well-wishers of Uplift a Child!
It’s been 13 years since Uplift A Child first began its journey of transforming lives in Assam and West Bengal. The organization currently supports more than 350 children in these states. This year, the organization celebrated an unforgettable Annual Program—a day filled with smiles, tradition, and hope for the future.
The event brought together a vibrant gathering of nearly 500 people, including 190 children supported by Uplift A Child, along with their families. Due to logistical considerations children living far away were excused for practical reasons. The warmth of the occasion embraced all.
The event started on a patriotic note, with a ceremonial march led by Indian Flag bearers. Guests of honor, including Mr. Sam Vonumu, the CEO, and sponsor Mr. Srinivas Polavarapu, were welcomed with traditional Assamese hospitality. It was a heartwarming moment as they stepped onto the stage, greeted in a style that highlighted the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Mr. Sam Vonumu’s words of encouragement resonated deeply with the audience. He emphasized resilience and managing expectations—a thoughtful message for children and parents alike. But the real stars of the day were the children, who lit up the event with their lively performances. Traditional dances and soulful songs filled the air, leaving everyone inspired and enchanted.
As the event came to a close, guests gathered for a delicious meal, rounding off the celebration on a joyful note. None of this would have been possible without the dedicated support of the school principals—Mr. Bamon Singh (Zion Adventist School), Dr. Raymond Bakhla (Sam Memorial School), Mr. Anup Lakra (Seventh-day Adventist School, Barobisha), and Mr. Phredrickson (Babyland School) for their roles in making the event a resounding success.
With its unwavering commitment to providing quality education and holistic support, Uplift A Child continues to make a profound difference in the lives of many, laying the foundation for a brighter future.
