ear Friends,
Thank you for continuing to support our work in Sinonik village. Your generosity is helping to secure a reliable source of clean water for more than 2,000 Maasai people who depend on the community's solar-powered borehole every day.
Since our last update, we have continued working alongside the Sinonik Water Committee and local partners to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the water system. While fundraising has remained slower than we had hoped, the community has shown an inspiring commitment to protecting and maintaining this vital resource.
One of our key priorities has been supporting the community as they continue to manage the financial commitments associated with their solar-powered water system. By working together to improve long-term planning and financial sustainability, we are helping ensure that the investment made in clean energy continues to benefit the village for many years to come.
Alongside this work, we continue planning the next phase of infrastructure improvements. These include repairing ageing pipework and storage tanks, maintaining the existing solar-powered pumping system and installing additional water distribution points throughout the village. Every improvement will help bring clean water closer to people's homes, reducing the distance many women and children still walk each day to collect this essential resource.
Although much of this work takes place behind the scenes, it lays the foundations for a stronger and more resilient water system. Reliable maintenance, good financial management and careful planning are just as important as new infrastructure in ensuring that the borehole continues to serve the community throughout the long dry season, when alternative water sources simply do not exist.
Our fundraising efforts continue, and every contribution makes a real difference. Donations will help reduce the community's remaining financial burden while supporting essential maintenance and future upgrades that will improve water access for every household.
Thank you for standing alongside the people of Sinonik. Your support is helping create a future where clean, reliable water is not only available today, but remains available for generations to come.
With sincere thanks,
Leigh
