The blind, as well as other handicapped people, have no guaranteed hope or opportunity to receive a proper education or have adequate training in our country. They are treated as a burden to the society. Our goal is to help some of the blind and disabled children to get a proper education, become orientated to the world around them, and have mobility through various methods. Our hope is that this will allow them to support themselves and live a dignified and integrated life among the society.
The situation of the blind people in India is a deplorable condition. The parents are ashamed of their children in the society. They feel that the child is born blind because of their previous sins. One of every 7 persons is a blind in India. Due to this the blind people are very much affected and they are not accepted in the school, villages and society. Once the school and mobility will be started then maximum blind people be benefited through this project. We want to help them.
This School and Training projects will help to grow and live a life of respect and dignity. It will also help to attract more blind people to get desire for education and rehabilitation. We also wish to visit villages and make the blind children to be admitted at the local school(s). We wish to make it as Inclusive Education project to help more blind children to be involved in Education and Training. By doing this we can meet the need of more blind people in our country.
We wish to make D. F, Blind School as a main center and serve the blind children scattered all over West Bengal. As the number of blind people is about 7 millions. So having Home or Hostel is not the answer for all. So we wish to start Inclusive Education Project as above. We also wish to start the Safe Guarding Policy and Child Protection Policy to make all the blind children and people a respectable livelihood in the society. We will also get impact with the local authority & community.
