UkaniManje- Spring 2023

By Katy Weinberg | Director

WAKE UP!!  UkaniManje!!

You may have seen that we've gone quiet.  As it was for all small NGOs, COVID was a challenge both for funding and programming but despite that, we managed to create a 10-song album that has been a huge sucess, with radio play across the country, more than a million downloads and streams on social media and community of youth who are excited to 'Wake up' Zambia to the realities of HIV.

However, to create new content and to continue to use our platforms to reach youth with messaging, we need support from you.  A $50 donation will be enough to cover talktime to update and regularly post on our social media pages that reach thousands of youth with accurate, doctor verified information.  We are also looking to find support for an in-country manager to work coordinate and collaborate with other NGOs on grants and school outreach, etc.  Lastly, we are ready to make new music!

Join us and we can again make some noise to WAKE UP Zambia!

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'VELRTAS HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL'

  • Despite being quite, we have still been working behinnd the scenes, planning our next steps.  Thanks to UkaniManje, artist Slap Dee was invited as a speaker at the 2023 Africa Business Conference at Harvard Business School.  While there, he and UkaniManje Director, Katy were able to make invaluable connections to experts across disciplines that will help move UkaniManje forward.

We are excited by how far we have come and are looking forward to seeing how far we can go.  Please consider supporting us in this work.

Happy Summer 2023, from all of us at UkaniManje!
