Key highlights
Facilitators- Neha, Khayti , Radha and Divya
The session started with the definition of Sexual Harassment and where and how it can take place. The facilitators shared that in sexual harassment We have to take the victims perspective in mind. It is the impact that matters not the intention. POSH law 2013, t respondent’s intent does not matter but the impact created on the victim matters. Law also takes the situation that if a man is drunk and under the influence of alcohol, He is guilty. The impact on every victim could be different.
The facilitators have shared few tips in the session-
1. Remember that sexual harassment never happens in public and in personal space only. It can happen anywhere. B alert always.
2. We can take advantage of the technology by exploring the privacy settings of the applications we use.
3. Sometimes there is a pattern of bad behaviour which is making you uncomfortable, you can report it as well.
4. One must act wisely and file the complaint within three months. You can do the complaints from anywhere while interacting with colleagues.
Multiple advices were also being shared with the shalinis and how they can use those things. Law is progressive, moving and dynamic. They talk about anti retaliation policy as well.
It was an informative session for all the sahlinis. They have learned a lot of new things and got aware about their rights.
Class 10th result got out at the end of July and that helped us to kick start our selection process for our New Batch which is the 21st batch of the North Delhi Chapter. The first most step is to reach out to the schools and distribute the application forms. We have started visiting schools with the help of our Shalini Volunteers. We decided to collect application forms online and then take the in physical form. We have added 4 new schools to our list and received a total of 369 forms from 30 Schools. After the form screening and NAT Calculation total number of 350 shalinis will be appearing for the written exam. The exam will be conducted on 28th Aug 2022.
