Dear friends,
Greetings from Udayan Care!
We thank you for your unending support of our project on Global Giving’s website! You have our heartfelt wishes! Hence, for your benefit, given below is an update on a few of our recent activities.
On 15th January a quarterly workshop was organized in Delhi on ‘Different Career Opportunities’ which was attended by 250 Udayan Shalini Fellows. The workshop was conducted in a manner which emphasized the qualitative changes in the programme. Earlier, all workshops had one expert addressing the Fellows. This time the girls were divided into several groups according to their interests in the field of education: Government Service, Civil Service, Army, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, Business Administration, Journalism and Advertising. Then all the groups were addressed by counselors pertaining to the respective career choices. In this manner, Fellows received better attention and had the opportunity of getting all their queries answered. The above topics were selected as most of the Fellows are on the verge of selecting their careers. The Fellows submitted a report elaborating specific outcomes after the workshop.
Small group workshops were also conducted on 12th February, 18th and 31st March, 2012 that helped our Fellows understand and learn more life skills, which according to them has helped while dealing with emotional pressures and even financial crises.
And to follow-up on the above workshops, as well as provide an open platform for discussions, a meet was organized for the Fellows, their families and mentors.
We are also proud to announce that Darsha Joshi, one of our Fellows, has been selected by Cambridge University to pursue her Doctoral Degree in physics. Another young Fellow, Anuradha Gupta has qualified University of Copenhagen’s Masters programme in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
We hope that your faith in us help more Udayan Shalini Fellows realize their dreams.
Yours in cause,
Team Udayan Care.
