Fountains of Hope School Report

The Fountains of Hope school is well into the second term of the school year and things are developing really well. It has taken time for all of the students to get uniform but now nearly everyone turns up smart each morning in their red and blue uniform. We have gradually been able to add the resources that the school needs like whiteboards to replace the gloomy blackboards, a basketball net for outdoor games and art materials for art classes. God has also blessed the school with volunteers who have and are giving their time to teach art and music, helping us to fulfil our vision of providing a well-rounded education for our pupils.

Children's welfare overseer and co-founder of Turning Point, Eunice, says that she is starting to now see a change in the children in the school. Some of the parents who visit the school have also reported a change in their children's behaviour. They come straight home from school rather than roaming the streets, they are respectful and take good care of their cleanliness. It is really encouraging to hear such reports from parents especially. The teachers will give the children mid-term exams in the coming weeks which will help them to monitor their pupil's academic progress and identify areas of strength and weakness.

The children have plenty to look forward to after they finish their exams as they have two school trips planned the week after exams including a trip to the Giraffe centre to see and draw the giraffes.
